Janey shopping for her new glasses!

Janey is extremely near-sighted so it was time for a new pair of glasses. She outgrew her 1st pair of glasses and has now moved up to not only a much stronger prescription (awe!) but also went up 2 sizes in her glasses. She's grown so much in the past year. She was so excited about picking out new glasses...or as Janey calls them "gasses" or "taa-tess".

Okay this was one of the cutest Janey moments. This is the day I took her back to pick up her "gasses" and have them fitted. While we waited she was making everyone laugh by entertaining herself in the mirror. She was in her own world talking and making funny faces at herself in the mirror.

Merry Christmas!!

Well, Janey and Eli are fast asleep after a big night of preparing for Santa. We baked homemade chocolate chip cookies that had to be thrown away because I got so tired at the end that I started reading from a different recipe and added milk. They ended up being flat as a pancake and wouldn't do anything but burn. However, Janey had fun and kept telling me that she wanted to do it again. It's going to be so much more fun next time when the cookies are actually edible. That's what I get for trying to do too much at one time. Oh well, Santa gets Animal Crackers with his glass of milk tonight. Janey also sprinkled some Reindeer food (aka...cheerios) on the patch of grass behind our townhome...in the rain! I'm sure the HOA would approve that, right? Here are some pictures from tonight.

The result. It's sad...but very funny.

I caught Janey stealing a cookie from Santa's plate.

Uncle Fred and his famous "queek-queek" on Janey's ear. Janey acts like she doesn't like it but then she talks about Uncle Fred and his "queek-queek" all the time.

Thanksgiving in Atlanta

Since there are 5 Wetherington siblings we share hosting Thanksgiving each year. I was actually suppose to host it last year but I was pregnant with Eli and very sick so I traded with my brother Lee last year...so that made it my turn this year. We had a great time...so much fun that I forgot to take pictures...but I'll get some from my sisters! We had my family, Eric's family and my sister-in-law's family! I believe the total headcount was 31 people. We had sooo much food!! It was all so yummy!

I did capture a few pictures on gameday with the cousin rivalry of Georgia vs. Georgia Tech. My oldest sister, Tina, married a Georgia Tech grad but we love him anyway. :)

Janey's First Movie Theater experience

Dylan and Devyn, Janey's best friends and cousins, came over for Janey's big day...her first MOVIE in the theater!! Aunt Rogena kept Eli at home while everyone (Uncle Tim, Dylan, Devyn, Daddy, Mama, Janey) went to see Madagascar 2 or as Janey would call it...the LONGNECK movie. We had so much fun...Janey didn't weigh enough to keep the seat from swinging up and eating her so Eric had to keep his leg on her seat to keep it down. She loved it!!

First the girls made a Gingerbread House with Uncle Tim.

Just a Girls Night Out at the movies!!

Janey couldn't stop eating the popcorn.

The "Preemie" Cousins

This is our beautiful niece, Kendall Alexa Johnson. She was also born 6 weeks early like Eli...she was in the same NICU as Eli and she even had some of the same nurses as Eli. Kendall was 3lbs 7oz at birth but had stronger lungs and could breathe without assistance...unlike our 6lbs 11oz Eli who had to have help breathing at birth. Kendall may have been tiny but don't underestimate her strength! Oh, and I nicknamed her "Tiny Hiney". Eli is 6 months and Kendall is 2 months old in the pictures.

Don't call me tiny, I'm a whopping 7lbs now!

Kendall says "Scoot over beefcake!"

Kendall ponders..."Why is this beefcake still crushing my leg?"

Seriously...what are you still doing here?

Eli's Wave and Janey's Excuses

Eli-
I'm so excited because during my night-night rocking with Eli he waved his hand "bye-bye" to me. He's been doing the motion with his hand but tonight he would copy me when I wave. It's so cute...he waves toward himself and really close to his face! It's like he is trying to grab something when he waves. I just want to eat him!! He is so sweet! Maybe I can catch it on video tomorrow and post it.

Eli is finishing his 2nd round of antibiotics from his double ear infection and he is finally not wheezing as bad from his bronchiolitis. I think only a few more days of breathing treatments and we will be back to normal. Thank Goodness!! The virus/colds for both Janey and Eli all started in September and it's been one thing after another. I look forward to a sick-free Thanksgiving next week...with children sleeping through the night!! Thank you Lord!!

Janey Janey Janey....
She loves to sleep, she loves to pretend to sleep, she loves to make pretend beds on the floor, she loves to pretend to snore and her latest and greatest...she loves to make every excuse in the book at night to get up one more time and come out of her room.

Her excuses:
1. I need big hug daddy.
2. Mama, I need "tiss" (kiss) Eli.
3. Daddy, too dark!
4. Mama, I need tee-tee in potty.
5. Daddy, I need poo-poo in potty.

So we've been coming down harder on her with the excuses because they were really cute to us at first..especially wanting to give more hugs and "tisses"...but that got old and she knows that won't work. However, the poo-poo and tee-tee is still working because the child will actually go...I don't know how she poops on demand but she does. Tonight was the 3rd night in a row that she used the "poo-poo" excuse to get out of bed and she really does go poopy. And this is after she's already poo-pooed earlier in the day!

Princess Janey and Superman
I love my mummy!

Well, we spent Halloween with my sister and her family in Lagrange, GA. Janey and Eli had a blast playing with their cousins and going on the "hayride"! Janey was a beautiful little princess and Eli was the "little man of steel"! He's almost 6 months and luckily fit into Sam's outfit for 1 year olds.
BTW...I will try to post more than one blog a year...haha
